Pustynia Bonneville jest bardzo gościnna. Każdy pojazd dostaje pożegnalny prezent. Zapytacie jaki? Oczywiście to sól, której na pustyni nie brakuje (w niektórych miejscach warstwa soli ma prawie 2 metry).
Nazwy mówią same za siebie. Obok samochodów startują również motocykle.
Rekordy ustanowione w tym miejscu są zniewalające. W roku 1960 Mickey Thompson prowadzący samochód Challenger 1, po raz pierwszy przekroczył 400 mil/h (644km/h). Sprzęt pomiarowy pokazał 406 mph (654 km/h). Potem poszło już gładko. Kolejną granicą stało się 1000km/h. Bariera pękła w 1970 za sprawą Garry'ego Gabelich'a i jego Blue Flame - 662,407 mph czyli 1001,67 km/h! Do tej pory jest to najlepszy wynik uzyskany w Bonneville. Najszybszym Dieslem jaki jeździ po świecie jest JCB DIESELMAX, który zdołał rozpędzić się na Salt Flats do 328.767mph ( 529 km/h ) w 2006 roku.

zięki ustanowieniu nowego rekordu i zdobyciu "czerwonej
czapki" ( znak rozpoznawczy członków 200MPH CLUB ), na zawsze
wpisałam się w historię BONNEVILLE SPEED WEEK. Bez wątpienia jest to
jedno z najważniejszych osiągnięć w moim życiu!
W ciągu 60 lat w 200MPH CLUB znalazło sie 15 kobiet.
Ja mam zaszczyt bycia jedna z nich, a zarazem jedyną Polką w
szeregach klubu!

The 458 Speciale has 596 bhp and a lot of new aerodynamic technology.The Ferrari 458 Speciale's power comes from a modified version of the 458's V8. With that 596bhp is it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever built by the company. It has a specific output of 133bhp per litre, which Ferrari says is the highest ever achieved by a naturally-aspirated road-going engine! Pretty impressive facts!
